Lord Of The Jeans
Lord of The Jeans was the result of a school assignment, where Arwen Derksen, Lieke Van Breugel and me, worked together to create the iconic “You shall not pass” Scene from Lord Of The Rings. The twist was, we had to make the entire thing out of denim. I focused on the Balrog as I loved to experiment with a theatre puppet of some sort.
It was an absolute blast to create the body and think of how it should move. I first created the body out of wire as creating shaped out of wire comes quite easy to me. Then I covered it with denim and experimented with folding, transparency and flexibility in the joints.
