Urinetown The Musical
Urinetown The Musical was a Doppio production, performed in NatLAB. It was something very new and exciting to create as I had not done something of this scale or budget. Nor had I ever had the position to direct and manage people to create a project.
It was a wonderful project to work on and experiment more with “letting go” of trying to make things look perfect or clean, I wanted to make it out of cardboard for financial purposes, but also because it really fit the play and gave me the opportunity to experiment a lot with such a scale.
Not only did I design and direct the decor, I also created vector art for the posters of the players to be used for the promotion of the play. These posters were also used in the play itself on specific points. For example; we hung the “Bad guy posters” in the hallway when you entered, and during the break, we graffitied these posters and/or hung the “Resistance” posters over them.
