Electroplated Rings
I came across the concept of “Electroplating” 3D prints through a teacher, who inspired and encouraged me to try this out. I’ve experimented quite a lot with this, but I never really could get the conditions correct to create what I had in mind. It certainly gave interesting results, but I will probably continue this once I have the right space and conditions to experiment more.

I experimented with conductive paint and how to create the right one. This took almost a dozen attempts to get it right and to actually have it convey enough electricity to allow the electroplating.
I experimented with creating my own “Elektrolyte” (A solution of the metal you want to coat your 3D print with) but that created too many factors on which the plating could fail, so I first want to be sure I can plate it correctly before I continue with that.

I managed to roughly plate one of the rings with copper, it wasn’t what I had in mind as I wanted it to be smooth, but it definitely still looks very interesting!
